RGDA NHB Team News Professors Adiv and Gracie would like to congratulate RGDA Canada fighters Anthony Romita and Alexis Davis. The fighters competed in the Ultimate Cage War Events and both won by submision in impressive fashion. The RGDA Expands in the UK Professors David Adiv and Royler Gracie are proud to announce the following news. RGDA UK has expanded. RGDA UK Head Instructor Eddie Kone reports the opening of RGDA Kent. The Instructor is Shane Burr who trains under Eddie and is an RGDA Blue Belt, and also an experienced NHB fighter with fights in Cage Rage and cage Warrior events. Mundials 2008 Congratulations to the Gracie Humaita Competition team. The RGDA Association is proud to be an integral part of the Gracie Humaita team. Gracie Humaita is the Original Gracie Jiu-Jitsu School from Rio De Janeiro -Brazil, created and developed by Grand Master Helio Gracie and carried foward by his sons including Professor Royler Gracie. The Gracie Humaita Men's Team took Second Place and for the second year in a row the Women's team took first place. Congratulations to RGDA HQ competitors Casey O'Brien and Angelica Tabor. Casey won the Gold medal in the female Blue Belt Middle Weight Division and Angelica brought home the Bronze in the female Brown/Black Belt Light Weight Division. RGDA NHB News RGDA Canada NHB fighter Anthony Romita will be fighting in the upcoming UCW Card on Friday June 27th in Winnipeg. Also a big congratulations to RGDA Canada Competitors Kyle Muratoff for 3 submissions on his way to second place this past weekend. The event was the Naga held in in toronto and congrats to johnathan king, dj, and james bliss for strong performances as well... Go to our news page for photos. RGDA Belt Promotions The RGDA held it's annual meeting this past weekend at Gracie New Jersey, the RGDA's headquaters. Over 30 representatives came out to discuss the future of the RGDA and it's continued commitment to a high level of teaching the art of Jiu-Jitsu. Camilla completely dominated her division; she had 4 fights and won them all by submission capturing first place and the gold medal. Camilla entered the absolute division wining her first 2 fights and losing her third fight to the eventual winner by points. Eddie wants us to know that Camilla had worked very hard with him for this Event and Eddie and all of us are very proud of her. RGDA-UK NHB fighter Sean Folan continued his winning ways taking his third victory in a row. Sean had a submission victory in round 2 via Kimura against a very tough opponent, Congrats and well done Sean RGDA NHB Team News ! Professor David Adiv just got great News from RGDA Absoluto Academy Instructor Tudor Mihaita. Tudor reports the following "We went to a big MMA show Friday night with 4 guys competing from Absoluto/RGDA. Packed arena, live on the 2nd biggest TV station in Romania which had awesome TV ratings. First fight Ferid (on the undercard) won a hard fight against a guy from Lion's Den (Ken Shamrock's gym) after decision. Then our next fighter Eugen won after the other corner threw the towel in the 1st rd after some great ground and pounding. Tolea our second guy was disqualified after illegal blows (a very strange call from teh ref, to say the least...) when he was on mount. Our last guy, Adrian, won by TKO rd 2 after the most spectacular fight of the evening.
